Chamada de trabalhos para WSL dia 27/02/2005
A chamada de trabalhos para o Workshop de Software Livre 2006 está aberta. O Workshop está estruturado em três trilhas: Nacional, Internacional e Software Livre nas Universaidades.
O WSL é um evento científico, apoiado pela Sociedade Brasileira de Computação – SBC, que tem como objetivo reunir professores, pesquisadores, estudantes e profissionais para apresentação de trabalhos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento relacionados a Software Livre.
O WSL ocorrerá durante o 7º Fórum Internacional Software Livre – fisl7.0, que será realizado de 19 a 22 de abril, no Centro de Eventos FIERGS, em Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil. Informações sobre o WSL podem ser obtidas através do site http://fisl.softwarelivre.org/7.0.

PRIMEIRA CHAMADA DE TRABALHOS PARA A TRILHA NACIONAL
INTRODUÇÃO
A Trilha Nacional do VII Workshop de Software Livre (WSL 2006) ocorrerá durante o fisl7.0 em Porto Alegre. Este fórum - que ocorreu pela primeira vez em maio de 2000 - tem como principal objetivo discutir e divulgar o uso de Software Livre nos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade. Seguindo nessa direção, o WSL se propõe a fornecer uma amostra dos trabalhos e pesquisas que têm sido desenvolvidos pela comunidade acadêmica e científica nesta área.
A Trilha Nacional do WSL 2006 constitui, portanto, uma oportunidade para que professores, alunos e pesquisadores do Brasil e de outros países sul-americanos apresentem trabalhos que estão sendo desenvolvidos em seus centros de pesquisa, empresas e universidades, usando Software Livre como base.
TÓPICOS
Autores são convidados a submeter artigos originais, que tratem de trabalhos concluídos ou em andamento, relacionados com aspectos relevantes na área de Software Livre. Os principais tópicos de interesse incluem (mas não se restringem a):
* adaptação e expansão de Software Livre;
* avaliação de Software Livre e comparação com plataformas proprietárias;
* experiências acadêmicas e industriais com Software Livre;
* pesquisa usando Software Livre;
* uso de Software Livre nos mais diversos ramos do conhecimento humano.
INFORMAÇÃO PARA AUTORES
O texto deve conter no máximo 6 páginas, incluindo resumo, abstract, figuras, diagramas, referências e anexos. O artigo NÃO deve possuir qualquer identificação dos autores ou de suas instituições. A formatação do texto deve seguir o padrão da SBC, disponível em https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/templates
Os artigos devem ser escritos em português, exclusivamente nos formatos Postscript (usar generic postscript) ou PDF (Portable Document Format).

Os artigos submetidos ao WSL serão avaliados por um corpo de revisores, sendo que os selecionados serão organizados para apresentação e publicação nos anais do Workshop. Pelo menos um dos autores de cada artigo selecionado deverá se inscrever no FISL e no WSL, bem como comparecer ao evento para apresentá-lo.

CALL FOR PAPERS of INTERNATIONAL TRACK
Free software (aka Libre Software, or OpenSource Software), has gained tremendous momentum all over the world, and is recognised as one of the major trends of the software industry, as well as an example for creation and diffusion of all intellectual goods in a networked economy, drawing ne models for the Information Society.
Still businesses or organisations, governments or individual users need to clarify their views concerning adoption or participation to the development of Free Software.
Beyond anecdotal succes or failure of some particular Free Software projects, which will attract the media attention, researchers are studying the complex mix of technical, economical and social factors that regulate laws of the Libre Software projects and communities.
The 7th International Workshop on Free Software (WFS2006), which will be co-located with the 7th International Free Software Forum - fisl7.0, intends to present and discuss the developments and research activities related to libre software carried out in academia and industry. Three main tracks : National, International and Free Software in
Universities, will provide the attendance with a good mix of fundational works and return on experience.
Authors are invited to submit papers describing finished or under development work related to relevant aspects of libre software. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Free software-based research;
* Comparing and evaluating free software solutions against proprietary solutions;
* Adaptation and expansion of free software;
* Academic experimentations using free software;
* Use of free software in education;
* Emerging technologies supported by free software;
* Operating system distributions;
* Networks and distributed systems;
* Free software on databases, imaging processing, computer graphics;
* Free software for artificial intelligence;
* Digital inclusion;
* E-government and free software;
* E-Commerce and free software;
* Public digital services;
* Regional integration, and globalization.
Accepted papers will be included in the WFS 2006 proceedings. At least one author of each accepted paper should register to the event and be present at WFS 2006 to present the work in one of the three .
PAPER SUBMISSION
Papers should be written in English and formatted following the Brazilian Computer Society style. Paper templates are available at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/templates
Papers are limited to 8 pages. Authors should submit their work registering the paper and uploading a PDF file through the electronic submission Web site at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=281
